Have you pinged the alias from your computer to see what IP address is being
returned? Is it different from the www address? One of the things I did
before I updated my server was change the TTL on all of the domain names to
900 (from 86400) to lower the time till live to 15 minutes, making DNS
propagation pick up the changes faster. Afterwards, I set it back to what
it was.
