Hey Gang,

I'm trying to upgrade the mod_perl on my BQ/Centos box to the Apache2
version. I'm installing Bugzilla, which requires Apache2 mod_perl.

Installing mod_perl requires 'apxs'. So I need to install httpd-devel. But
that install fails thusly:

[root@raq2 bugzilla]# yum install httpd-devel

[snip]

--> Processing Dependency: pcre = 4.5-3.2.RHEL4 for package: pcre-devel

--> Finished Dependency Resolution

Error: Missing Dependency: pcre = 4.5-3.2.RHEL4 is needed by package
pcre-devel

And I can't for the life of me get 'pcre' to install:

[root@raq2 bugzilla]# yum install pcre

[snip]

Nothing to do

A 'list' shows me this:

[root@raq2 bugzilla]# yum list pcre

Installed Packages

pcre.i386                                6.7-1.0.SOL1           installed

Available Packages

pcre.i386                                4.5-3.2.RHEL4          base

So it looks like the SQL1 version of pcre is preventing the RHEL4 Base
version from being installed, and there is no SQL1 version of pcre-devel.

I'm reluctant to uninstall the SQL1 version, as there are several sites
using MySQL on the server, and I have no idea what effect this might have on
them.

Any suggestions?
