Hi;

I am thinking of getting a Qube 3 and _not_ putting NetBSD or
Debian on it, but leaving a GUI in place so that other people could
administer it easily. I have a Qube 2, running NetBSD, which
works nicely but can't be administered by non-unix people very well.

I would like to know more about Bluequartz; I can't find any recent
information about what features are preset/ which are not yet
supported by BlueQuartz on the Qube 3.

Can someone give me an idea of how recent patches are, how secure the
system is, what GUI features work well, what GUI features do not work
well, and which aren't supported for the Qube 3?

Searching the mailing list for "Qube 3" and sorting to put the most
recent post first shows me posts from 2006-->2003, but a skim didn't
help me much.

My main use would be for fileserver/backup server, which I can do
with Debian or NetBSD, but other features would be nice to have,
especially if run from a GUI. It would be nice if I could apply
updates myself as they come out for Fedora without breaking the GUI
or other system pieces, or do users usually have to wait for someone
to adapt them for the BlueQuartz enviroment?

Thanks for help.

Brian
