I've never seen "bind*" used as a target; you might want to try leaving it
off since bind sees dependencies, and just try:
"yum update bind-chroot"
Which will install any dependencies.
Also, try "rpm -qa | grep bind"; when we do that on our generic CentOS
4.4 machines we see:
<snip>
bind-chroot-9.2.4-16.EL4
ypbind-1.17.2-8
bind-utils-9.2.4-16.EL4
bind-libs-9.2.4-16.EL4
bind-9.2.4-16.EL4
</snip>
Don't worry about ypbind if you see it but everything else needs to be of
the same version number; if it's not you'll have problems and may need to
remove those packages.
Also do "rpm -qa | grep nameserver" to see if you've got caching-nameserver
on your server; if you do you need to check it's version number as well. If
not, then leave it be; you don't need it if you haven't got it.
WARNING: If you delete bind and you use your own server in
/etc/resolv.conf, then you'll need to find the IP#s of all the servers used
by your copy of yum, and install them into /etc/hosts first or yum update
(and everything else relying on DNS) won't work.
