Hey Charlie,
Does directly referencing the root document
(http://www.yourdomain.com/index.htm) work?
The index.html file may come first as the default document in the
httpd.conf on the server.
1. Make sure that the old site placeholder index.html is actually
deleted (or renamed).
2. Also make sure that the httpd.conf lists index.htm (no 'L') as one
of the default documents.
3. Are you uploading to the correct virtual site? Learn the layout of
your server if you can and make sure you are putting the site to the
correct place.
A side comment: Frontpage isn't the best tool these days IMO. Maybe
you can use a local Apache win32 install for site development work and
then put the site to the production server using a standard FTP
client? Developing on IIS and then uploading the site to an apache
server does not seem like a good idea, you may run into
incompatibilities. Try to develop and publish on the same server
platform, win32 apache seems the closest match for 'same box'
developers. (at least that's what I use!)
Good luck!
