I am using the standard BQ majordomo setup on a regular basis. In my
configuration, I send out an update email to the recipients of the list. It
is not a list where members communicate with each other. The list is opt-in
and out, meaning they can subscribe or unsubscribe by sending an email to
the list server. I even have a small perl script that I pop-up from the
site where they can subscribe to the list. If I can answer any questions
about my use of the list software, I will be happy to try to answer your
questions, but I probably can only help within the constraints of what I use
it for.
