hi there, I have a domain setup only for the purpose of a mail list (no
web and regular email).

so I created a site called list.domain.com and created the appropriate
MX record (a rec for the list.domain.com, mx record for list.domain.com
pointing high priority to list.domain.com) to handle that list.domain.com.
I then created a site admin for it and created a mailing list called
"testlist". I then added 2 subscribers VIA the web interface. One was
internal (the listadmin) and one external.

For the domains email settings - the only thing to note is that there is
no alias (as this is not providing the main email service).

The actual mailing list settings are:

Posting Policy: Only subscribers can post messages
Subscription Policy: Confirm email address
max Message Length: 500 kb
Reply Policy: reply to list

So now from the external address (that is subscribed), I send an email
to: testlist (at mark) list.domain.com

I then get a bounce back with the following error:

Your message could not be delivered.

The recipient's computer rejected your e-mail.
Please verify the recipient's e-mail address and resend.

    Recipient: <testlist (at mark) list.domain.com>
Reason: 5.7.1 <testlist (at mark) list.domain.com>... Relaying denied. Proper authentication required.

Now obviously I must be missing something...

ideas?
