Hi,
I had the same problem this morning, after an upgrade of dovecot.
I had to stop and start /etc/init.d/dbrecover.
Now I've try to change the password using the web admin interface.
I couldn't.
I had to stop/start /etc/init.d/dbrecover many time to make it work...
