One problem that I have is that two different domains, having two users 
with the same name, will suffer a name clash.

E.g.

patrick (at mark) domain1.com
patrick (at mark) domain2.com

cannot both have a username of "patrick" .

Any workarounds for it, or a future plan to change this behavior?

I understand that this behavior is deeply embedded in the system so do 
not expect it to change overnight.
