I have done this before, I generally restart as well and I am trying other
new domains
created and new alias's. The aliases always bounce back with the same
sendmail rejection
in the maillog.
So far it looks like the MailScanner/SpamAssassin/CLAMAV packages I add
after that break
the alias capability.

Uninstall the packages and see it that fixes it.
If it does, then try a different package from another source or check with
the MailScanner pkg supplier.
