Sun never really replaced Cobalt. They paid like 1.8 billion just
eventually discontinue the product line.

> What product replaces the Cobalt/BlueQuartz Sun servers?

Cobalt is NOT BlueQuartz
BlueQuartz is NOT Cobalt

Cobalt was a hardware & software platform. Sun Microsystems released the
Cobalt User Interface for the RaQ550 into the Open Source world. The
Cobalt User's Group in Japan took over developement and turned it into
BlueQuartz. BlueQuartz is now a user interface that works on CentOS and
Fedora Core 1 I believe.

NuOnce Networks (my company) has assisted in the on going developement by
making a CentOS / BlueQuartz Installer.

It's goal is to bring BlueQuartz main stream and make an easy to install
application that requires virtually zero Linux knowledge. Just as the
Cobalt use to do.

Every hosting platform has it's ups and down.

Why is it better though? It is FREE. You do not have to pay a dime. It
is developed by core developers and assisted by the community at large.

For web hosting:
   Built in dynamic languages
     PHP
     Perl + CGI
     MS Frontpage
     Python
Addons, you can download from: http://www.nuonce.net/bluequartz.php
     ASP (Licensed)
     Microsoft .NET (free)

   MySQL Server for Database.

For E-Mail:
   POP(s) / IMAP(s)
   SMTP w/ Authentication for relaying.

It provides everything that you need to either start a hosting company, or
continue building yours.

New features will be added with each new release, along with bug fixes and
such.

There is a community of commerical vendors that support and create addons
to enhance BlueQuartz. NuOnce Networks, Solarspeed, Cobalt Support,
RaQtweak, and and others.

There is no need to "Replace" BlueQuartz, as it is just a baby and will
continue to grow strong!

Hope that helps you out!
