Here is a head scratcher ...

I have installed Brian's MailScanner package and apart from making a few
adjustments to the MailScanner.conf I haven't touched anything.

The maillog entries from MailScanner appear to be -5hrs from the system
time.

"tail -f /var/log/maillog" gives this:

ug  9 18:39:09 server1 sendmail[4047]: AUTH: available mech=LOGIN
ANONYMOUS CRAM-MD5 PLAIN DIGEST-MD5, allowed mech=EXTERNAL GSSAPI

"date" gives the correct time and localtime links to the correct zone:

lrwxrwxrwx   1 root root       35 Aug  3 21:22 localtime ->
../usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/London

I cannot see anything in the MailScanner.conf that effects time stamp
and can't see that there would need to be.

Anybody any ideas?

Colin
