I have recently configured authenticated SMTP on my servers using Brian
Smith's instructions at

The use of authsmtp seems to be increasing as the spammer menace
increases. I am not a BQ or Linux expert but wondered how easy it would
be to include this option in a future BQ build with a check box
available in the advanced email section of the GUI to enable it?

Just an idea, but is it practical.
