seems that your dns lacks appropriate record.
also, Rashid, please post in plain text - i have a difficulty top-posting...
if you post the real domain.tld we could test your config remotely.
Best,

Subject: [coba-e:05152] Proftpd issue
Aloha Blues,
Since some of you'll seem to be cankering for some spice on the list, here
is one for you...
I have the following interesting issue as you can see from a shell session
on my MAC doing a command-line ftp.
muntadas-powerbook58:~ muntada$ ftp somesite.com
ftp: No address associated with nodename
ftp> exit
muntadas-powerbook58:~ muntada$ ftp anothersite.com
Connected to janothersite.com.
220 ProFTPD 1.2.10 Server (ProFTPD) [xxx.xx.xxx.xx]
Name (anothersite.com:muntada): ^C
muntadas-powerbook58:~ muntada$ ftp www.somesite.com
Connected to www.somesite.com.
220 ProFTPD 1.2.10 Server (ProFTPD) [ xxx.xx.xxx.xx]
Name (www.somesite.com:muntada): ^C
muntadas-powerbook58:~ muntada$
As you see, somesite.com didn't work but www.somesite.com did. When I tried
another site on the same server and kept off the www it worked. Where do I
look to address the 'No address associated with nodename' error?
The proftpd.conf just has IP addresses in it. After that, I don't know
where to go as FTP as always worked for me and never had to fool with it
before.
