Even when you disable the Autoconfigure DNS, you still get errors.  When you
try to edit the mail server alias, when you try to edit the MX record and
when you try to save the site settings with the updated IP address.

As far as I remember, there is an option of "Autoconfigure DNS" when you
create site, and in site settings, too.

I believe if you'd disable it, you could manage DNS entries again.
