A bit of an old subject here, but revisited.

On my original post I used the APC software for my solution.

Now I'm working on a Raq3 box with CentOS 3.7 / BQ and I want it to talk to
a Raq550 which has the APC SmartUPS attached.

As a starting point I've installed on my development box the standard 550
RPM's

base-ups-am-1.0.0-6.i386.rpm
base-ups-capstone-1.0-57.noarch.rpm
base-ups-glue-1.0-57.noarch.rpm
base-ups-locale-en-1.0-57.noarch.rpm
base-ups-locale-ja-1.0-57.noarch.rpm
base-ups-ui-1.0-57.noarch.rpm
nut-0.45.1-C12.i386.rpm

All seems to be working OK, with the exception of a couple of LCD errors
(but this is expected).

I know it's an old version of NUT the current is 2.0.1 , but there was a
change in the communications protocol after 1.4 and I wanted it to use the
550 as the master. I also didn't need the newer CGI GUI of the newer
versions, I just wanted a simple shutdown type control.

Am I missing something here as it all seems too easy to just get away with
adding the original RPM's ?

Best Regards
Howie.

	Hi there,

Im currently running the NuOnce iso of CentOS+Bluequartz,
Nu-CentOS-BQ-1.2.iso

I was wondering if anyone has been working on support for a UPS, in
particular one from APC.
Looking on the APC website there are downloads supporting various
versions of Linux. Has anyone ported for and had success using it with
BlueQuartz. Has anyone also been able to incorporate it into the BQ GUI?

	Thanks in advance,

Hi Howie,

If there is support for RH9 enterprise then it should work with CentOS. You
may want to checkout the CentOS mailing list for more info on that.

<http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos> (This would not include
any GUI integration)
