Thank you for your work.
I updated through yum and saw the following packages:
  Update: sendmail.i386 0:8.13.1-3.RHEL4.3.BQ - BlueQuartz
  Update: sendmail-cf.i386 0:8.13.1-3.RHEL4.3.BQ - BlueQuartz
  Update: sendmail-doc.i386 0:8.13.1-3.RHEL4.3.BQ - BlueQuartz

I then restarted sendmail:
 /etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail restart

Is it correct that, when connecting to port 25, sendmail still reports:
ESMTP Sendmail 8.13.1/8.13.1
?
