So simple conclution is.
Some raid controllers are better some dont.
Never had problems with the software raid so why change
Hardware raid has some + points but you lose monitoring
The raid if your not on location.

This depends on the hardware raid controller.
High quality controllers such as 3ware are OK.

Most Motherboard controllers are fake raid, and actually
Are using cpu cycles to perform the raid function.
In this case you would be better off with software raid.
This way you still get 'raid integrity' check in active monitor.
