So far i know that has nothing to do with the max recipients
But with a not excisting emailadres on your own server
It also gives this messages when ua user has a cattchall adress set up in de
the admin but removed the alias from th euser
The mail sends to a non exsisting emailadres than loops till it timesout
with the excessive recursion  message

So look in your maillog to see what adress is the problem

hi,

i'm getting a "554 5.0.0 rewrite: excessive recursion (max 50), ruleset
canonify" error although i have set "MaxRecipientsPerMessage=100" in
/etc/sendmail.cf (and restarted sendmail of course).

any help? ;)
