Ny understanding (and I could be wrong) is that single core 
processors don't benefit from SMP - however booting an SMP 
kernel will detect that the proc is single core anyway - so I guess it 
doesn't really matter.

It is, which is why I got lumbered with the job of contacting 
customers who don't have managed servers :-(
