Yum last updated about a week ago.
Since then it's crashed about 3 times
It used to crash about 1 every 1-2 months.
It's not quite every day but it feels like it. The last 2 crashes were
actually at 04:35 on the 14th and 04:20 in the 18th

Nothing seems obvious from the logs.

I'll have to just keep an eye on it for the moment as I don't have time as
I'm away tomorrow for a couple of weeks. It on an APC IP power switch and
has a web cam pointing at it, so I can reboot remotely when needed.

Best Regards,
Howie.

Question 1: What changes happened to your box just before this started
happening - Any clues in yum log file?
Question 2: Whats the last things happening in other log files - in
particular, the cron log file.
Question 3: One thing that has caused some kernel panic's that I've seen
before has been related to some weird iptables stuff - anything happening
with firewalls modules at that time of day?

Regards,
Greg.
