I have a same CMU problem on  my user's web site.
The cmu.log has following line.
"Scanout: Can't call method uid on an undefined value at 
/usr/cmu/perl/Archive.pm line 338, <GEN0> line 147."

You said  "Symlink cause this problem".

Then, I have a question.
How do I find "the problem Symlink" at the user's web sites ?
"Any symlink" cause this problem ?
