Is it possible that Brian used some different parameters or directories?
I have been using his updates, ever since I switched to BQ. Then I decided
to install mailscanner, spam assassin, clamav, etc. I did not use Brian's
package because I could not afford it at the time. Well, I broke my mail
server. It turns out that that mailscanner author helped me fix it and found
that a few things were set up differently on my server. This was the first
time I used 3rd party help.
Before that it was always Brian's updates and software.
So, this could be the problem. I may be way off, but it is a thought.

I've been using Brian's stuff even longer than that ... and agree :)
We are seeing flakey SMTP and FTP on our updated server now.
