I actually use Michael's MyDNS package and it works well.
But I do not use it for recursive since I like to have a clean dns report:
http://private.dnsstuff.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=precisionweb.net&token=26702b4b2aefa57d25672a8a3a40a019
I also use Michael's Aventurin / VPS software: and on that system I just
set up a VPS with the DNS running and I set it to do recursive lookups from
my IP range only. It works well that way.
My actual nameservers do not do recursive. And my resolver IP address does
do it, but only internally for my IP range.
On my resolver VPS I set it to:
Cache Record Lookups [ checked ]
Query Request Recursion Access by IP Address: 209.112.247.0/24
