We had a similar problem and the serious log problem was on var/log/httpd 

In our case it was error_log, there was a script sending thousands of
errors.

The auto installer tends to make a small /var partition usually only about
2-4GB which is way too small for all the logs and spools we have nowadays. 
You may have to make a directory for your logs on one of the larger
partition and place a symbolic link in /var to point to it. It's either that
or reinstall and manually partition for a larger /var.
