I have gotten to where I just delete messages that are bottom posted. The
one exception is Ken Marcus, as when he posts, it's usually good stuff.  But
when I am scanning the new BQ messages, if I can't quickly ascertain that
the discussion is of interest to me, I just delete it.  I don't have time to
scroll to the bottom just to get to the meat of the message on every
message.

And if a user, sometime in the future, isn't smart enough to look at a
message and tell what part is the poster's response (the part without the
">") and the part that is being responded to (the part with the ">"), then
they don't deserve an answer.  

Archive integrity has nothing to do with it.  It's just OCD behavior from
people who have forced the style on the rest of the world who can't follow a
conversation from the bottom up.
