Rickard,

the subfolders patch for dovecot was working for me. Was ..

today I am installing a new Thunderbird configuration on an account 
without any usage of IMAP before

than I am unable to create the Drafts and Sent folder

I find an error like: trycreate mailbox doesn't exist sent

when I replace the dovecot.conf (original before the patch) and restart
folders are created.

So yes, subfolders can be made, but when the main folder does not exist: 
no go ..

At least here.
