PayPal has the same kind of setup...A ton of pizza boxes all clustered
together for redundancy.

Funny, it kinda made me think that there really is no such thing as 100% 
uptime  :-)

The last few failure I have had to deal with have been caused by faulty 
hardware that was supposed to stop downtime (e.g. RAID is great unless 
it's the RAID controller that dies, etc, etc).  Sometimes I think that 
Google has the right idea with lots of cheap disposable boxes but even 
they haven't had 100% uptime. :-)
