I have been a Cobalt user since I bought my first RaQ 4 a long time ago. I
fell in love with it immediately. Now several BQ servers later, I am
grateful for the assistance of contributors such as Hisao Shibuya, Brian
Smith, Michael Stauber, Gerald Waugh, and others like Paul Aviles and
Patrick O who have helped me and my customers to continue with our
investment in the platform.
Since I begin using BQ, I saw the effort of these individuals was one of
cooperation with the end goal of a better OS for all.
Recently I have been reading the dialogue with Zeffie (Jeff) and others. I
am most disappointed in the behavior of Zeffie and would like to say, please
join the team. We rather have your technical prowess and effort working in
a cooperative dialogue rather than a spirited attack.
I am no expert in Linux but that doesn't mean I am not an expert in being
human. I know if I speak to people nicely I will most likely get what I
want rather than speaking to them in a harsh manner. There are times when
one needs to turn up the heat, but this is not one those situations.
Therefore, let me suggest that you take the offer of those who have said
that you join the developers list and release your updates within that list
for discussion and dialogue. And if you are turned down, then accept the
groups decision and if you want to then continue with your offers, then do
so on your site. Those who want to take advantage of your offers will do
so. But please keep the negative criticisms toned down. Talk to the
technical merits of your methods, not how superior they are.
I have no financial interest in this community other than that I am a user
of BlueQuartz. I don't sell BlueQuartz software, hardware, or services. I
am a hosting provider and simply that.
Thank you for your time and hopefully a much nicer discussion on this list
henceforth.
