We have a couple of StrongBolt boxes running for some special-needs
customers. These systems have been every bit as reliable as you would
expect a BQ box to be. In fact, one is operated by a large national
charitable organization for their fund raising websites and email
service. They've been nothing but thrilled with the system's uptime and
performance. We've worked with them to minimize vulnerabilities and
execute basic common sense practices that would be good ideas no matter
the platform.
It was stated before, and I voice my agreement; if it ain't broke, don't
fix it.
There are many other factors that you should consider in determining if
StrongBolt, or any particular system, is right for you. And remember
that the "latest" isn't always the "greatest". Just because there is
something newer does not mean it's automatically a good idea to just go
out and upgrade. (Any early adopters of Vista out there who might care
to disagree? I am one... I didn't think so! LOL).
Kernel version alone is a pretty poor determination of a system's
overall health or value. To say otherwise would present a fairly myopic
view.
