This sounds extremely interisting to me too.
I am just looking for a way to create a folder for every newly created user without struggling with all the backend stuff. I'm not a developer, just an administrator..
The project I am working on is to get the BQ system to use the Maildir format for storing emails, so one is able to use it as a fully blown IMAP server, with the possibility to create subfolders.
The changes on the dovecot config are very small. Using procmail it is very easy to store the mails in the right place too. But when you create a new user the Maildir folder in the users homefolder (where procmail wants to store new mails) is missing and this way new mails get stored under /var/spool/mail/<username>.
If it is not possible to trigger an own script I have to let cron run a script every minute that is looking for newly created users - not very elegant..
