I've seen a few messages on the list here about people not receiving
mail to their inbox if they initiate the vacation message through
openwebmail. I've just had a user contact me with that problem. A good
description of the problem follows below (from a Robert). My question is
just curious if it stuck the mail somewhere that I could recover it - or
does it go to dev/null or something? And any solution so it doesn't
happen again - or maybe I just need to go through all the users
openwebmail configs and remove the '#VACATIONSTART' and '#VACATIONEND'
from each preferences.
thanks, Jim
"I had a customer that said he stopped getting mail. I found that he had
enabled the auto-reply in the Openwebmail application installed via the
nuonce package. It seems that openwebmail is picking up the commented
out sections that BQ insists on putting in the .forward file
'#VACATIONSTART' and '#VACATIONEND' as a forwarding address. The user
did not notice this just above his auto-reply and did not check the
'keep local copy' checkbox. I just deleted the commented information
from the Openwebmail forwarding address and it worked. I wanted to check
here for a fix before I go hacking BQ or Openwebmail. I tried removing
the commented information form the .forward file, but BQ just puts it
back if you do a vacation message. Is there a fix for this? I have
Openwebmail 2.51 on one server and 2.52 on another, both do this same
thing. "
