Thanks for the fixes.

I am seeing mail in the mbox files now.

But I am also seeing new 0 size files in
 /var/spool/mail

Is this OK?

My procmailrc is

ORGMAIL=$HOME/mbox
DEFAULT=$ORGMAIL

Also, if I run your /root/procmailfix.pl  after I run the
yum clean all
yum -y update

Will that break your spam assassin install?
