In the past, mostly on raq550 servers I have seen the NA for a subject in 
the webmail. Your problems seems a bit different than that.  For me it was 
normally it is a customer that is checking their email using POP3 and also 
is using a device like a blackberry (probably IMAP) at the same time.

The mbox file would get corrupted and begin with some random not the usual 
From line. The error in the error log would be "Invalid From Lines ... 
Envelopes"     something like that.

If I recall, what I have read on the Cobalt list was that it was due to file 
locking incompatibilities between POP3 and IMAP.

But I have also have the problem of corrupted mbox files on raq550 servers 
that would spontaneously reboot a few times a day.
