It takes about 15 minutes to update the LCD on Tyan and MSI servers.
Update LCD is a very fast cron job, that runs every 15 minutes 
Changing in the GUI should work OK.
We normally just make the server name, something like
   srv1.nomecity.org
At least make it a unique host name.
This will avoid conflicts that may occurr during migration.
