I have a Raq4r I want to migrate to a BlueQuartz MSI server. I thought I
would attempt using CMU. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right
direction and possibly answer a few questions?
(I'm not really a sysadmin. Only know enough to be dangerous. I would be
happy to pay someone but I'm in very rural Alaska so that ain't gonna
happen).
I've thought of doing it by hand as the Raq only has one or two (one not
used much) virtual websites for our city (pretty heavy use of pdf files)
and about 24 email users. I'm the only admin for it. But since it has
been awhile since setting up a httpd.conf file I don't remember much
about it and thought it might be easier using the tool made for it.
I'm using raqbackup.sh to backup to a backup server. There is no mysql
database currently.
The setup right now is our old Raq is on a DMZ interface of a firewall.
I have the MSI server on our network so I can update it and set it up,
but I figure I'll take it off the network when the cmuExport is copied
over and redo the ip address to match the Raq's. I can test it with a
laptop to see how things may be broken before taking the Raq offline and
putting the MSI in service.
I made the mistake first of setting up the host name as nomecity.org
(the main virtual site is nomealaska.org) when first turning on the
server. I believe it will be easy to delete the virtual site. Should I
rename the host name something different than www.nomecity.org or leave
it be?
Contents of the backup file:
groups-www.cityofnome.org-public.tar.gz and private.tar.gz
groups-www.nomealaska.org-public.tar.gz and private.tar.gz
groups-www.nomecity.org-private (and public) .tar.gz
groups-www.webmail.nomealaska.org-(etc.)
users-**-private and public.tar.gz
www.nomecity.org.dirs.tar.gz
Copy these files to /home/cmu on the destination server and issue the
cmuImport command - I downloaded someone's (Gerald?) migration-guide.pdf
for TLA servers for actual commands maybe.
Clarifications, advice, and workarounds greatly appreciated.
