Hi Guys,

I have a client with their own mail server external to the website. Up
until now I have been forwarding their email as follows:

  A domain.com 11.22.33.44
  A www.domain.com 11.22.33.44
  A mail.domain.com 22.33.44.55 <- their IP
  MX domain.com mail.domain.com
  MX www.domain.com mail.domain.com

This has been working fine for a while, and still works for email generated
from outside servers, but since I use server 11.22.33.44 as my SMTP server
I've been getting the following error from this morning:

> ----- Transcript of session follows -----
> 553 5.3.5 domain.com. config error: mail loops back to me (MX
> problem?) 554 5.3.5 Local configuration error

I have double-checked IP addresses in the DNS config area but can't find a
problem there, and I have tried adding 'mail2.domain.com' and changing the
MX records accordingly, but still no joy. I have just tried sending an
email through the web form (to test server-generated email) to see if that
gets through, and this it my main concern.

Where else should I look for config options/errors to try and resolve this?

Best regards,

DD
