The default language is usually the "template" language. In our
casethe "template" directory contains the English language files - or a copy
of them. When you then set Pootle up for a new language like Farsi, you add
that language to the project and in the GUI click on "update from templates"
to populate it with the language files from the template directories.
However, this will 'empty' the message strings.
I wasn't sure if this is indeed the intended behaviour when I installed
Pootle, but then I checked the docs and other projects that use Pootle. And
it appears to be the same way over there as well.
