Might sound a bit odd.. but i once had that problem, could restart the
server, everything looked perfect, but no connection.
A sweet 'a la microsoft' reboot fixed the issue though, and left me in
the dark regarding the subject..
Dunno if you tried that already.

It says "requesting a new channel please wait" than "Failed to open secure
terminal session: Authentication error" it prints error message that(IB$BCT(B all
I get, I can start stop ssh services from command line, no errors showing.

We have used the strongbolt server installer several times with no
issues.
What kind of errors do you get?
Is the server listening on port 22?
Does ssh respond at all?
