Colin,

I think it is a problem with MS (thanks, not, Billl)
But deleteing files in a FTP session, should work using quotes (" ")

Thanks Gerald,

What I want is work out why I'm getting the problem. I don't want my
clients having to phone to ask me to delete stuff off their FTP site.

Sounds like a problem escaping the special characters - maybe I need to
add some rewrite rules in proftpd?

Colin

HTML???

use the ftp command

   del "file name"

Note the quotes ("") around the filename

That should work

We are having a consistent problem with our BQ servers (all versions)
where clients' FTP files with gaps in the name and then cannot delete
them or modify them afterward they have been uploaded to our servers.
E.g. filename: 'this is a file that will be a problem.doc'

Can anybody give me a clue as to what might be the problem? I'm no *nix
guru J

I haven't changed anything in the proftpd.conf from the original BQ
dist.

Thanks

Colin
